FAQS

Wedding Day Preparation for Bride and Bridal Party:

With in the week or sooner of the wedding/event our Booking Coordinator will have sent you an email laying out the details of your wedding/event day appointments. The email should state your start time, the location of where you will be getting ready, your balance due, and a quick run down on hair and skin preparation before our arrival.  She will also send you a final invoice for the balance which needs to be paid ahead of event day. If you choose to pay cash you can make that arrangement.

Hair Preparation - If you do NOT have oily hair you are welcome to have day old hair. If you have oily hair or feel the need to wash your hair on the wedding day please put minimal conditioner on your hair and not on the roots at all.

Hair should be 100% dry prior to our arrival unless you are booked a hair blow-dry style.

Updos do NOT include a blow out. That service is to be done by the client ahead of time or there is an additional fee of $45 - $75 for a blow out.

Skin Preparation - please have clean lightly moisturized skin.  We ask that if possible to not use sunscreen as it can have an effect on the makeup and how it appears in pictures.

Your makeup artist will take into effect your skin type and if there is any additional preparation she would like to take.

Q: Should I wash my hair before my appointment?
A: Clean hair is great especially if you have oily hair or you have been swimming or in the ocean. If you have really fine hair or only wash your hair once or twice a week please give us your best day hair. Some people that’s the second or third day. we understand and get it ;)

Q: Should I Condition or use any products in my hair?
A:
If necessary to comb out hair, then yes. But do not put conditioner at your scalp. This will only make hair too soft and silky, and will not hold up as well.

Q: What should I do to prepare if I have shorter hair or a blow-dry style?
A:
If you’re looking for a blow-dry style, either for short, long or even curly hair, please have your hair washed and still wet, so it can be dried and styled right away. No worries if the hair begins to dry before I get to dry it. We can simply wet the hair down a little.

Q: Will I need to touch up anything?
A: If your oily I suggest a compact or blotting papers. A simple lip gloss for your lips for touch up for later on in the night is a plus too.

Q: What if I have a certain makeup product that I prefer to use?
A:
Not a problem. Just have them available that day.

Q: Would it help if I brought some pictures?
A:
Absolutely. Pictures for hair and make-up are great. Although I am very good at understanding what you’re thinking and taking into consideration what will look best on you. Pictures can say exactly what you desire and make sure we are on the same page.

Q: When should I have my hair colored before the wedding?
A:
Depending on when you come to Key West, I usually recommend 7-10 days before hand. That way it’s not last minute and if there is something you need to have changed, I can also recommend someone locally in the Key West area if it would be more convenient. If that is not an option or you just are not happy with your hair cut or color please contact me and we can make an appointment for you.

Q: My eyebrows are pretty full. Should I have them cleaned up?
A:
Yes. this will open your eyes up and your make-up will look even better. Please do this a few times so you get used to which ever hair removal procedure you use. Some people have different reactions. Please research out a good technician in your area. Eyebrow arching is an art and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Q: How long will it take to get ready?
A:
It’s your big day! We don’t want to rush. You deserve all my attention. To provide ample time for the look you deserve for your hair and make-up will take about 1 1/2hr. Any additional services for family and friends can be determined at a later time.

Q: What should I do to myself to prepare for your arrival?
A: Have your hair blown dried and ready to be curled or put up. Your face should be cleansed and moisturized. Try to wear a tank top or something easily taken off that won’t affect your hair or make-up when you take it off. Button up collared shirts tend to ruffle the back of the hair. So we prefer a loose open neck shirt or tank top.

Q: How is airbrushing applied and what exactly does it do?
A:
Airbrushed make-up sprays on. A spray that mists out foundation that suddenly makes your skin seem flawless. It’s actually thousands of tiny little dots so your skin glows through. It’s never a heavy or cakey finish or texture. It is as natural as you want with unbelievable coverage. It lays on top of your skin and fills in any flaws, instead of accentuating them. Airbrush make-up is silicone based, non-toxic and hypoallergenic. It’s also sanitary – more so than using sponges or other make-up applicators that germs can be attracted to.

Your makeup will stand up to sweat, tears, hugs and all the kisses in between.

Airbrushing allows the skin to breath so it feels like your not wearing any makeup at all and gives you the “no makeup” look. It can be used on the body, ideal for chest and arms so you’re evenly matched from your forehead to your fingertips. Its gives you a matte, pore-less finish so you never look shiny. Traditional foundation is available – but try airbrush, you will love it!
Rest assured while you’re receiving all those hugs and kisses from your friends and relatives, you’ll still look as fresh as you did after your first kiss. Imagine that! The last thing you need to worry about is your make-up wearing off on your wedding day. Airbrush make-up will last until you wash your face. So you can do as much cheek to cheek dancing as you’d like without worrying about your make-up rubbing off.
